Museums are important structures in a city or maybe in a country. This signifies the culture or history of a place. It also educates us by just looking at the masterpieces and works of the artists.
In 1996 the MAM or Miami Art Museum was founded. Its mission statement is to advance public knowledge and appreciation of art, architecture and design, and enhances the cultural experience of the residents and visitors to South Florida. Some of the artists represented in the collection are Carlos Alfonzo, José Bedia, Fernando Botero, Chuck Close, Joseph Cornell, Marcel Duchamp, Edouard Duval-Carrié, Teresita Fernández, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Ann Hamilton, Guillermo Kuitca, Morris Louis, Ana Mendieta, Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Rubén Torres-Llorca, George Segal, Lorna Simpson, and Frank Stella, and etc. The MAM has also selected officers and trustees. The chairman is Aaron Podhurst and some of the trustees are Sari K. Agatston and George Lindemann Jr. The good thing about their museum is that they have foundations that is helping others like students. This fund sustains MAM’s innovative programs for audiences 5 to 18 years of age and includes our successful programs with the schools. I can say that their site and the goals are good and let’s continue to support their good deeds.
